Andrew James is a leading provider of "Start to Finish" Design and Build solutions in the Clacton, Colchester and Ipswich areas.

Founded, originally as Andrew James Builders in 1976, by Andrew James Whalley, a trained Carpenter and Joiner, our services was extended to cover the design aspect of a construction project in 1995, with Andrew training further in CAD (Computer Aided Design).

This encompassing knowledge and understanding of the full design and build process brings many benefits to our clients, for example we are able to design out costs when planning your project.

We provide our services to domestic, commercial and public sector clients.

We have extensive experience in both design and construction of Listed Buildings.

Who Are We

Andrew James Whalley supervises all aspects of the business, and oversees each construction project. His extensive experience is applied at each stage of your design and build project ensuring you receive only the best in service and project delivery.

Andrew takes pride in making certain that each project is of the highest calibre.

Malcolm Hammond joined the team in 2002 in the post of Design Technician, with his vast experience of CAD he was able to bring technical excellence to Andrew James.

Malcolm prides himself on ensuring that you receive the best possible service when you chose Andrew James to take you through your design project.
